«Un presente infinito e senza scampo»: Temporalità sospesa e immaginario urbano nella Palermo di Giorgio Vasta

Abstract

This article examines Giorgio Vasta's portrayal of Palermo as an “ahistorical”
city, where temporal layers collapse into an inescapable present. Through "Spaesamento"
(2010) and "Palermo. Un'autobiografia nella luce" (2022), it interprets the recurring dinosaur motif as central to his poetics, marking the intrusion of prehistory into everyday life
and the disruption of linear time.
Keywords: Giorgio Vasta, Palermo, non-simultaneity, geocriticism, visual culture
